Ms. Johns is an entrepreneur and investment banker with a focus on technology companies. Her experience includes starting and operating two technology-oriented investment banks, first at Needham & Company in NYC and Boston and then with BLP Advisors (“BLP”) in Boston. Prior to investment banking, she was a venture capitalist and previous to that an engineer involved in computer modeling. Ms. Johns’ investment banking experience includes managing groups and projects for the sale of a company, private placements and initial public offerings. Cumulative transactions total over $2 billion. Companies which now own previous clients are Oracle, Dell, IBM SSA Global, and Network Services Company.
At BLP, Ms. Johns was also the Chief Compliance Officer, managing all FINRA regulatory affairs, including all regulatory filings, the maintenance of firm licenses and managing FINRA and financial audits. She holds a Series 63, 7, 24, 28 and 99 licenses. As part of BLP’s outreach activities, she maintained a blog: The Rearview Mirror which chronicled that week’s M&A, IPO and private placement transactions. In 2015, Ms. Johns sold BLP Advisors to Five9 Securities, based in Santa Monica, which now holds her securities licenses.
