Karuna hosts specific projects to foster shared learning and accelerate investments using a virtual collaborative platform. Hosted projects allow donors to measure and track the performance of their investments across a sector actively and effectively. Through facilitated virtual meetings, donors stay up to date on all current developments that affect their investments. Virtual meetings are also designed to develop advocacy actions for scaling projects and initiating new ones. Hosted projects generally align with Donor Circles.
Promoting Youth Leadership (US, Global)
Through interactive workshops, seminars, and other events, young people gain valuable skills they can use in building resilient communities. Project goals include tracking how young people, particularly school-aged and college students, can make behavioral choices that will benefit themselves and their communities. Youth participate in and conduct peer-training workshops in leadership and life skills.
Conservation Plus (Africa)
A Resilient Communities approach to protecting wildlife and the environment, this project tests ecosystem interventions to foster local communities’ ownership of their natural resources. The learning initiative conducts comparative analyses of different types of investments in conservation and the extent to which they build local capabilities and income-earning opportunities.
Accelerating Market Solutions to Reproductive Health Products (Global)
This initiative focuses on expanding access to and accelerating the adoption of currently available family planning products. Activities include impact investments in market strategies that address unmet contraceptive needs. Small grants support innovative pilots for delaying early family formation.
